You may remember that I e-mailed Canal & River Trust about the Elsans at Braunston being out of action. I have now received this reply at 19.28 on the 9th October.

Thank you for your email. I apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused. However I can assure you we worked our hardest to get the elsans back up and running!
The elsan at the junction required a part to be manufactured hence why it has been out of service for a little while. Works commenced today to fit the next part.
With regards to the elsan at the Stop House, this elsan was misused so it became very blocked. We did send a team out however it was so blocked they were unable to clear it. They attended site the next day with more powerful equipment to restore the elsans service.

Well thanks Amy for replying, I do appreciate you taking the time to do so. I'm not sure what sort of part would need to be manufactured to get an Elsan working as it is basically a U bend that goes into a septic tank or the main sewerage system. Hopefully there should be no further problems ..
