He's a good Lad is our Hamish. When the locks are close together he will always walk with Carolyn and then patiently wait until we are through the lock. It was another good days cruise down to Tixall where we picked up a mooring just before the wide. With the wide being fairly full as it always is we ended up on our own just before the wide with no other boats around us.
Pulling pins at 08.00 the following morning we pass through Tixall wide.
We passed this lovely looking old wooden boat. I'm not sure that I would want all of that wood to look after. It looks like a lot of work.
At Colwich lock the farmer was taking his cattle over the bridge next to the lock. Carolyn was a bit unsure and didn't like the way they were looking at her.
Another strange looking boat to see on the canal . I really don't understand what this is about. It must be very strange inside.

OOPS ! . Missed the bridge hole.
We picked up this mooring in Rugeley just as the rain was starting. Mind you the rain never stopped Carolyn carrying out a bit of retail therapy in the town. Tomorrow we will have an even earlier start as we want to get near to Fazeley junction. Its a journey of just over 7 hours so it should be an enjoyable cruise.
