We have really looked forward to our first ever Twenty20 blast cricket game between Nott's Outlaws our team for the night and the Leicester Foxes. We were well impressed with Trent Bridge cricket ground and the facilities on offer and all the friendly people.
We couldn't believe the fireworks and flames that went off as the teams came out onto the pitch . We even had flames every time 4 or a 6 runs were scored . What great entertainment this is.
After a brilliant and most enjoyable 2 hours it came down to this .With just 20 balls left the Outlaws needed 46 runs off 20 balls with a run required rate of 13.80 . An impossible task we thought
That's us on the big screen you can see me waving in the top right hand corner. If you squint you might just see me with Carolyn and Ray.
It was such a good match with an amazing finale but unfortunately it ended with the Outlaws losing by just 2 runs. I did have one claim to fame when a six went over the top of our heads and then bounced on the steps behind us and then hit me on the arm.
We had an absolutely brilliant time at Trent Bridge and enjoyed every minute of it. Its something that we will have to do again I was surprised by how much Carolyn loved it and she really got in to the spirit of it .
The following day and along with Ray we were at the City ground which is the home of Nottingham Forest . We didn't realise how far up in the stand we would be which just happened to be The Brian Clough stand. It was a brilliant place to watch the game as we could see the build up of play and it was just like watching it on TV.
There were no fireworks here as the two teams took to the pitch. Today we are Forest supporters but for 90 minutes only.
It ended up as a Forest win and we all enjoyed it although Carolyn ended up with a headache because of the stupid amount of noise the crowd made. Her words not mine …
Back to Inca and we had even more sport and this time it was free . You cant beat a bit of Dragon boat racing. Tomorrow we have the Nottingham Caribbean carnival which from what we have been told is an event not to be missed.
Happy Days
