Tunnel selfie

IMG_5476We pulled pins at 09.00 from our mooring before Gayton and after about 10 minutes of cruising we arrived at the Junction and with the services empty we decided to do a quick top up and drop off. What a difference these services are to the ones in Braunston , they are clean, everything was working, well looked after and a pleasure to use . I did e-mail a complaint to Canal & river Trust regarding their facilities at Braunston ,but as yet I have not received a reply.

IMG_5477We have seen all sorts of trade boats ,but never a window cleaner boat.

IMG_5484Not long after Gayton junction you pass through the village of Blisworth and then after a short distance its into the 3076 yards (2800 meters) of Blisworth tunnel.  A lot of boaters don't seem to like tunnels ,but I love them . Especially this one as its soaking wet and has a good Ghost story attached to it ,and you just can’t beat a good old tunnel selfie.

IMG_5495After about 40 minutes and only passing one boat coming in the other direction we reach the other end.

IMG_5502Before you know it the locks at Stoke bruerne are there in front of you…..Come on Carolyn, put your back into it !!!!!

IMG_5504This set of locks is normally full of Gongoozlers (canal watchers) but today there were not that many around. Even so the few that were there gave Carolyn a helping hand on a couple of the locks.

IMG_5519We finally get to Grafton Regis and our luck is in as there is nobody on our favourite mooring. We will have a day or two here before moving on again.

                                                                                                   Happy Days
