We had only intended to spend a couple of days in Birmingham, but unfortunately Carolyn has damaged the lens on her right eye so we have been forced to stay while she gets treatment for it.
After spending a couple of days at Brindley place we have to move as our time is up . Luckily there is a mooring available around the corner opposite the NIA (National Indoor Arena). As we reverse out of Brindley place we pass the bike boat. They seem to do a good trade repairing bikes on the towpath.
We then reverse around to the famous canal roundabout.
Then onto our new mooring. We have the NIC, The Birmingham library and The Sea life centre all in view from our front room window.
You wouldn't believe the amount of rubbish that ends up in the canal . Everyday this boat comes by and nets as much as they can.
This is what we got next to Inca in just one day. I have never seen so many coconuts floating in a canal. There must be a tree hanging over the canal where they just drop in…Or maybe not !!
Out for an afternoon stroll around Gas Street basin in Birmingham.
Looking back down Gas Street towards The Mailbox. I'm glad we didn't moor here as it is so busy and loud .
How about this for an Idea. I've never seen a Land Rover on a narrowboat before.. I somehow cant see the idea catching on …..
Happy Days
didn't look overly interesting in Brum but I expect some very nice shops for Carolyn to look around x
